Week Four Assignment

Principle: Inspiration and Creativity

Task: Plan a shoot around “something” that has inspired you that is not related to photography trend (those ideas that we see repeated again and again by photographers ;)

We want to practice the idea of finding inspiration in ALL THINGS in the world around us.

Some idea starters may be some of the following: Movies, objects, books, illustrations, food, chores, colors, locations, concepts, poems, childhood memories, music, lyrics, an activity, lighting or mood, things around the house, an emotion, etc. etc.

Remember: Use a shot list, posing/idea guide, and pre-plan. An interview with your subject can also be a great source of inspiration for a shoot.

Post: Your favorite 3 images. Please explain the source of your inspiration.

I planned this shoot around my kids. I wanted to capture something that was important to them and something they love to do. It wasn't the brightest room so I tried to keep the noise down in my pictures, not my greatest job. I do struggle with indoor light so I wanted to try something inside, plus they read most of their books on my little boys bed so what better place to take them then there. I wanted it to feel natural for them. Don't get me wrong there was lots of screaming and fighting over books.

Thank you Brooke for all your amazing advice. You are a wonderful teacher and photographer!
